Boj ve stratosféře!
Spitfire HF Mk.VII (KPM0479), výškový speciál s přetlakovou kabinou, Kovozávody 1/72, Skaebrae flight, Orkneje, únor 1944. O tomhle stroji jsem četl už jako kluk, Clostermann mu věnuje jednu kapitolu ve Velkém cirkusu a příběh vyšel i přetištěný v ábíčku. Realita byla jaksi jiná, nad Orknejemi nenaháněli stodevítku Clostermann s Remlingerem, v kabině tohoto stroje seděl P/O Ian Blair. Němec skončil v moři a Spit VII nouzově přistál bez podvozku. Zajímavé je označení kódem 312. čs peruti, to na Spitfiru zůstalo po Čechoslovácích, kteří drželi vartu na Orknejích v roce 1943. Spitfire HF Mk.VII (KPM0479), high-altitude special with pressurized cabin, Kovozávody 1/72, Skaebrae flight, Orkney, February 1944. I read about this machine as a boy, Clostermann devotes a chapter to it in the Great Circus and the story was also reprinted in the ABC. The reality was somehow different, Clostermann and Remlinger were not chasing the 109 over the Orkneys, P/O Ian Blair was sitting in the cabin of this machine. The German ended up in the sea and the Spit VII made an emergency landing without landing gear. The code designation of the 312th Czechoslovak Squadron is interesting, it was left on the Spitfire by the Czechoslovaks who were on guard duty in the Orkneys in 1943.
